Much better than the Joy- Cons that are built-in to the switch.   Basically required for any serious gaming.  I like that pressing any button wakes up the switch (when in the TV dock).  Oh yea, you basically need a TV Dock as well.  Once you use the Pro Controller and a TV dock, you won't use the switch in portable mode anymore.

I'm biased I got this for $44 before taxes on 2025 for my switch 2 so keep in mind it's years old model at this point.

Great rumble feels great looks great. I'd get more if the price continues to fall. Also, in comparison to the pro controller 2 the analogs on this are not as nice but honestly that's a small complaint on an otherwise great deal and great controller.

Great controller

I am a hardcore gaming mom, and I bought my son a switch for his 14th birthday. the controller that comes with the console, where you can just put the two pieces together, is absolutely awful. I surprise them with this controller, and everything fell into place. we were both gaming better together, and he was ecstatic. even a week or two later, and he's still enjoying it

Tried aftermarket controller and it lasted 6 months of moderate use. Original Nintendo pro controller lasted years before it wore out. So went back to Nintendo controller.  Works properly and I expect it to last  longer than 6 months. Worth the money.

I’ve purchased two of these. I was very skeptical because of the price, but the first one seemed great. Second one also looked good, but the packaging and controller were just slightly different. Things like the copyright on the box having a year on one and not the other. 

The second one though was clearly counterfeit. The rumble feature was super loud, poorly timed, and overall very annoying. It also had a random sticker seal that says “SZY” on the side of the controller. Buttons were also more raised/less rounded than the other controller. 

TLDR: probably knock offs, first was fantastic and second was not.

Walmart should be ashamed for allowing this seller to sell hundreds of fake controllers to kids and unaware adults.

SCAMMER ALERT

The legitimate official Nintendo Pro Controller is great but Walmart is allowing third party sellers to market counterfeit controllers as legitimate. Buyer beware...learn how to spot counterfeit controllers.

Buyer Beware! This is not a genuine Nintendo accessory, it is counterfeit. I had problems with it and sent it in to Nintendo to get it addressed under warranty and they contacted me saying they could not honor the warranty because it was fake. This seller should be removed. I would like full refund.

The items received were counterfeits not made by Nintendo. Inferior build quality, would not take firmware updates, missing features like HD rumble and NFC. Easiest tell is the lettering on the face buttons being very uneven on the counterfeit controllers.

This Nintendo switch pro controller is not authentic. Compared this against a real controller and the print is different and the weight is far under what a real controller should be. This is a scam buyer beware.
